These routes generally require more resources to schedule and maintain than ordinary direct connections, so they are better treated as a priority option for important tasks rather than a permanent default whenever a “dedicated line” label appears. When the target service is far away, choosing a geographically sensible dedicated-line entry point usually provides a more balanced connection than always selecting a popular remote city.

A dedicated line cannot eliminate issues caused by local access quality, device status, or congestion on the target platform. If pages respond slowly, first check whether other websites work normally, then compare relay routes in the same region instead of attributing every issue to the egress node.

Choose based on the target service’s region rather than trying to pass through a particular city. Where both a dedicated line and a relay are available, start with the relay for routine tasks and compare the dedicated line if long connections are frequently interrupted.

Streaming platforms evaluate egress region, account status, and licensing territory together. Routes marked “Supported” are good first options, but playback results still depend on the platform’s detection at that time. After switching routes, reopen the app or page so the previous connection ends before testing again.

Direct Connections: Simple Paths for Flexible Switching

Direct routes connect to the target region’s egress through the current network, with a relatively simple path. They suit services with clear egress-location requirements, shorter sessions, or frequent region switching. When the local provider’s route to the target area is already smooth, a direct connection offers a clear, straightforward access path.

Direct routes are more sensitive to local networks and changes in public international routing. Experience may vary during busy evening periods, when switching access networks, or over long distances. Treat direct connections as a baseline for comparison: test the target region first, then move to a relay or dedicated line in the same region if page loading, video buffering, or long-lived connections fall short.

Direct routes often offer flexible regional coverage and make more city choices possible. For occasional regional-content checks, access to overseas websites, or short tasks, there is no need to default to a more resource-intensive route; choose based on the actual result.

Selection guide

Choose by Use Case, Not Just by City

There is no single route that works best for every device. Identify the target service first, then compare nearby regions; this is usually more effective than repeatedly switching to distant nodes.

Everyday Browsing

For international websites, research, or email, start with an Asia-Pacific route reasonably close to your location. Short page requests depend more on consistently responsive behavior than on a prominent route label. If a direct connection is stable, keep using it; if pages occasionally pause, compare a relay route in the same region.

Frequent cross-region switching is not recommended for everyday browsing, because some websites adjust language, currency, or login checks based on egress region. Keeping a relatively consistent region can reduce repeated verification and changes to regional page settings.

Streaming

First confirm which region the content belongs to, then choose the corresponding route marked “Supported” in the table. Whether a title appears may depend not only on network egress, but also on account region, content licensing, app cache, and platform detection policies. Treat the route label as a starting point for selection, not a fixed guarantee for every catalog.

After switching regions, end the existing playback session before reopening the platform. If the content still does not appear, try another route type within the same country. Switching to another country usually changes the content catalog and may not resolve detection issues for the original region.

AI Tools

AI web apps, editor plugins, and developer APIs often depend on regional detection, login sessions, persistent connections, and streamed responses at the same time. Prefer a dedicated line or relay in a region where the target tool is available, and keep the egress region stable during a work session.     Choose the country based on the target website, content catalog, cloud service, or game server location. When the target region is clear, there is no need to scan every popular city first.

  2. Start with a Nearby Entry Point

    A reasonably close entry point is more likely to provide a simple path. If the target service has no strict regional requirement, start with an Asia-Pacific route and adjust based on the actual page response.

  3. Compare Types in the Same Region

    Comparing direct, relay, and dedicated routes while keeping the country unchanged makes it easier to tell whether an issue comes from the access path or the platform itself, without regional changes affecting the result.

  4. Keep One Complete Session

    Avoid changing the egress during login, meetings, editor synchronization, or streamed output whenever possible. Compare other routes after finishing the task for clearer results.
